Acts 2 in Portland Tn

I wanted to finish talking about Acts 2.

We know as Pentecostals when we think of this chapter we think of Speaking in Tongues and Jesus Name Baptism but there is so much more in this chapter. And this is what I want us to focus on today.

Why as Pentecostal people do we stop with Tongues and Baptism?
God is so much bigger....

They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. Acts 2:42,43

They didn't stop with Tongues and Baptism, they went even further with God. They were filled with Awe. What does Awe mean?

Awe: 1: an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime <stood in awe of the king> <regard nature's wonders with awe>

The people were amazed by what they saw. We think it is ok to be amazed by the Chriss Angel's and David Blaine's but what happen to the church being amazed by the wonders of God?

You can't discount or say it isn't in the Bible. It is there. We have allowed the new age movement to take from us what God intended the church to be doing.

Just read the Book of Acts. Throughout this book signs, wonders and miracles were performed. We believe as Pentecostals that tongues is for us, why isn't signs wonders and miracles? These elements are in there. Why do we focus so much on part of the word and leave out the rest? We are no different than the unbelievers of Speaking in Tongues. They take what they want and leave the rest. Aren't we doing the same thing?

Do you truly want the Fullness of God?
Do you want all God has to offer?

You can't take Jesus Name Baptism out of Acts 2 and leave Signs Wonders Miracles out of the mix. It is in there with it...in the same chapter. But we do.

We've all  heard it...

Why would God do that?
He doesn't need to do those things.
How can that be God?

The Supernatural move of God is here.
Why?

We say we know He is coming back.
But do we believe this?

Look at your TV programming. It is full of the worldly supernatural. The world knows its here. Why doesn't the church?

It is simple.....God is the creator of all things. Satan can only mimic God. Satan can't create anything. Satan takes what God has created and distorts it.

It's not the act of the supernatural that is wrong but the source of the act. And there is only two sources....God or Satan.

Whose wagon will you be on?
